Volcom Hoodies: Skater Style and Personality

Volcom hoodies have long been associated with the ‘skater’ style of clothing, catering to the skater, surfer, and snowboarder segments of the market as the company sponsors hundreds of these events. They are usually designed with edgy graphics and unique color combinations. The company makes elaborate use of the stone Volcom logo and patterns its designs and any wording on its apparel after the company motto of “youth against the establishment.”

Since 1995 Volcom has also been a springboard for up and coming artists and pop culture icons, allowing guest artists to design lines of clothing for a season or two. Most recently, Ryan Sheckler, a famous skateboarder designed a line of Volcom hoodies bearing the Sheckler name. These hoodies have graphics and pictures on nearly every inch of the hoody and typically zip all the way up the hood.

Volcom hoodies are typically fairly inexpensive and rarely go above $70 for even its ‘Featured Artists’ line of products. Also, availability is never a concern as there are literally hundreds of stores nationwide that sell Volcom apparel, from department stores such as Macy’s and Nordstroms to popular mall stores such as Zumiez and the Buckle.

There are also a number of Volcom stores that only sell Volcom merchandise. For information on finding a Volcom store or retailer, check the Volcom site for a store locator. Additionally, there are hundreds of online retailers selling Volcom merchandise, usually on sale, especially in the spring and summer months.

The Volcom style is usually reserved for the teen to young adult market as the patterns and colors may be a bit too much for older audiences. However, for a flashier appearance and a unique look to match a unique personality, Volcom hoodies are the way to go.
